Happy Retirement Brigid Ann - Head Cook at Ballylifford PS

On Friday we came together as a whole school community to celebrate Brigid Ann's 34 years of dedicated service to Ballylifford PS.  This was a very special and emotional day for Brigid Ann and her family.  

We want to express our sincere thanks to Fr Donnelly for the beautiful mass, Anne Marie and Orla for the tea and refreshments, all the parents past and present who joined us on Friday and to our staff at Ballylifford for working together to ensure the afternoon was something that Brigid Ann would always cherish.
For the last 34 years, Brigid Ann has been serving the most delicious dinners to children and staff.  The beautiful smell of those dinners – especially that unmistakable aroma of garlic – has filled our corridors for years, letting us all know we were in for a treat every single day.  Brigid Ann has also been the absolute heart of our staffroom.  We have shared so many laughs and tears in the staffroom, and Brigid Ann's endless jokes and banter with Orla have brought us all so much joy.  Thank you for treating every single one of us, children and staff, completely like your own children.  Your deep faith, your kind spirit and your genuine love for Ballylifford PS shone through in everything you did.

Now, an exciting new chapter begins for Brigid Ann.  We want to wish her all the very best on her well-deserved retirement.  We pray for Brigid Ann's continued good health and endless happiness.  She can now fully enjoy every moment of her time with her husband Seamus, her children Elaine, Ciaran and Aidan, and of course her wonderful grandchildren who we all know she absolutely adores.

Brigid Ann, we are going to miss you more than words can say.  Thank you for 34 beautiful years.  Please remember that you will always be a huge, permanent part of the Ballylifford school community. 

It’s only goodbye for now, as you are very welcome into school at any time.
