Bright skies, big numbers

29th Apr 2026
We are making the most of the beautiful weather by taking our learning outdoors! Today we enjoyed taking part in the times tables relay race with focus on our mixed tables, this was so competitive with each team wanting to be the first to complete the task. We also had three different stations to practice our tables and work on our mental maths strategy of rounding and adjusting. Our target practice was based on our tables - we were given an answer and had to throw the bean bag into the right target to show how the answer was reached. The rounding relay game was so much fun  - each team member had to pick a card and round the number to the nearest 10,100,1000. We also added some active P.E into our numeracy lesson with pupils testing themselves to see how many jumps, claps and jumping jacks they could complete in one minute before rounding these numbers to the nearest 10/100. We had so much fun learning outdoors with our friends.
