World Book Day 2026

We had a fantastic day celebrating our love of reading! The children looked fantastic in their costumes and were delighted to share their favourite stories with their friends. P.5/6/7 created excellent character profiles on Just2Easy about their favourite character, using voice overs to describe their personality and storyline of each character. We enjoyed paired reading and other activities with the children from different classes. P.6 and P.2 were delighted to see the sunshine as we got to enjoy reading in different places around our playground. The eco council led our school book swap which meant the children had an opportunity to choose a new book to enjoy at home. Well done to Ethan, Jayden and Ellie who won the tickets to attend a creative writing workshop with author Stuart Reid, next Saturday, in the Seamus Heaney centre. It was such a great day celebrating World Book Day and sharing these adventures with our friends.
