Play based learning in P.1/2

P.1/2 really enjoyed their Halloween themed play this morning. They were frightfully fantastic at developing their fine motor skills in carefully collecting the spiders from the spiders web. They loved making their own witches potions and coming up with some spooky spells. They were developing their counting skills by matching the Halloween objects to the correct numbers. They created some scary skeletons using everyday objects such as cotton buds and they even created some crazy creatures using the play dough, Halloween cutters and creepy eyes. The P.1/2 have been enjoying using the choice board to choose their play and have been developing not only their social skills to play in groups but also their independence, numeracy, literacy, fine motor development and letting their imagination shine through their creations. Well done P.1/2!
