P5 on Data duty

In Numeracy we have been exploring handling data in a fun and engaging way. Today, we headed out to the front of our school to carry out a survey of how many different colours of cars past Ballylifford Primary School in a 15 minute period, using tally charts to record our information. We even enjoyed the friendly waves and beeps from passing drivers as they saw us completing our work! Back in school, pupils used Just2Easy to turn their findings into clear and colourful bar charts. This activity helped them to understand how to gather, organise and present information.
