Today we welcomed Jillian into our classroom as part of the ‘Trout in the Classroom’ initiative. The pupils found this visit very interesting and got to learn lots of new information about the Ballinderry river and how it is associated with Lough Neagh. We looked at the wildlife within the river and their life cycles. In a few weeks time, Jillian will bring Dollaghan Trout eggs into our classroom for our boys and girls to monitor until they hatch and grow into trout, we will then get to visit the Ballinderry River to release the trout. We are really excited about taking part in this project.
