A visit from Patrick
We had a wonderfully enjoyable morning when Conan’s daddy, Patrick, joined us to talk about his role as a farmer. The children had prepared lots of thoughtful questions, and Patrick answered each one with fascinating and engaging information about life on the farm. Patrick explained the different types of tractors and what each one is used for as well as the various colours of cows and how their colour can indicate their purpose. He also told us why sheep are sprayed different colours and described the important job of a farmer’s dog. The children were especially interested in hearing about Patrick’s daily routine on the farm and we also heard how Conan is such a great helper. Patrick very kindly brought in farm samples for the children to explore, including silage, barley and even cattle ear tags. The children were so excited to investigate these real life farming items. We absolutely loved this morning’s talk and learned so much from Patrick’s enthusiasm and expertise.
We want to sincerely thank him for taking the time to visit our classroom and help deepen our understanding of our Farming topic. The children really enjoyed the visit, and Conan was incredibly proud to have his daddy join us in our classroom. After today’s session were quite sure that Conan will follow in his daddy’s footsteps - he had so much knowledge of farm life to share too!
