Maths Week Ireland in P.5/6/7

This week in our class, we enjoyed taking part in a variety of activities to celebrate Maths Week Ireland.  We took part in our whole school challenge, focusing on our mental maths strategy of counting on and counting back.  The challenges were completed to a very high standard, with pupils showcasing their skills and confidence in this area.  During our fractions work this week, we took learning outdoors, used games and hands on activities to explore fractions in a practical way. To round off Maths Week, we enjoyed a fantastic Friday afternoon of numeracy games, covering a variety of topics from time, place value, times tables, fractions and addition. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed this session and showed great enthusiasm when completing their tasks. Well done to all our young mathematicians!
