Special thanks to author Declan Carville, working alongside the AMMA creative learning group for visiting our KS2 class this afternoon. After reading Declan’s book ‘Nelly Fandango’ last week, Declan was thrilled to hear our thoughts on his writing. We focused on the characters’ feelings throughout the story and how difficult it can be to transition to new places. We had many questions for Declan on being an author and how he came up with his wonderful stories. Declan showed us how a character is created and we began making our own characters which we hope to turn into animations soon. Declan also left us a few signed copies of his book, ‘The Magic Harp’ which we hope to read soon.
